Communications Director

Lifepoint Church is seeking an organized and driven individual to serve as the Communications Director. This person will be responsible for church-wide communications, marketing, and the development of our online communities. This position will serve as the creative architect for all internal and external communications.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years marketing experience
  • Well-developed writer and editor with excellent communication skills
  • Experience with social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Experience with Microsoft applications and web browsers
  • Experience working with web-based communications

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops external communications and marketing plans
  • Manages external print and electronic communications (web and app content, press releases and media pitches, email marketing, social media, church news)
  • Edits and proofs internal/external communications
  • Provides copy needed for print and electronic communications
  • Populates talking points and writes scripts for weekly church news
  • Maintains and updates the global communications calendar
  • Organizes and communicates with vendors and businesses for global marketing
  • Updates social media accounts and related ministries with updates, news and announcements – as well as current/relevant photos or videos – in a timely manner using appropriate content
  • Responds to posts or comments on social media platforms to bring value to user’s interactions with the church
  • Grows our online social networks by increasing followers and interactions
  • Uses insights provided by social media platforms to assess trends and activity on our accounts
  • Reviews data on the performance of social media platforms and adjusts plans or strategies to optimize growth
  • Recruits, trains and develops volunteers to build the communications team
  • Must be able to establish and meet quarterly/annual goals and objectives
  • Other duties as assigned
